CHORAL MUSIC TEACHER
Monica holds a bachelor’s degree in music education from WSU and enjoyed teaching music for over ten years in public schools in Wichita, New York, and Wisconsin. She has also taught vocal and drama classes with Christian Youth Theater, served as children's choir director at her church, and has taught private piano lessons for many years. Monica loves working with all types of learners to build vocal confidence and foster a greater appreciation and enjoyment of music!
Choral Music Class (Age 12-18): Students will learn proper vocal technique (including pitch, tone-quality, resonance and breath control) as well as build other music skills such as rhythm and pitch reading, basic music theory, and singing in two-part harmony.
*Special note: adolescent males with changing voices can learn how to enjoy singing through this stage in life, so you are encouraged to come join us!
*Choral Music is an 18-week commitment to allow for rehearsal and performance at the end.
*Classes meet on Tuesdays, 12-12:50 pm.
*Fall semester: Aug. 6-Dec. 10, with an evening performance on Dec. 10.
*Spring semester: Jan. 7-May 13, with an evening performance on May 14.
*Cost is $108 per semester. Discount available if signing up more than two children.

Elementary Music (Age 5-7/Age 8-11): This fun and engaging class will explore the musical concepts of pitch, rhythm, tone color, dynamics, meter, tempo, form, and texture. Students will learn by listening and analyzing, moving, playing instruments, and singing. Our musical repertoire will be comprised of folk songs, hymns, and other pieces written specifically for children. Various composer studies will also be included along the way. Our goal is to build students' God-given music skills as well as foster joy and appreciation for music that will last a lifetime.
*Classes meet on Tuesdays:
10-10:50 am for Ages 8-11;
11-11:50 am for Ages 5-7.
1st 9 weeks: Aug. 15-Oct. 10
2nd 9 weeks: Oct. 17-Dec. 12
3rd 9 weeks: Jan. 9-Mar. 5
4th 9 weeks: Mar. 19-May 14
